The connection between photojournalism and the media is obvious, nevertheless, much greater than might be expected. We shall discuss the paralelism of the development and level of photography and the concentration of the media market in Slovenia, moreover, the specific consequences it bring around for the photographers themselves with the guests, who have received some of the highest international honours and recognitions in the field of photography. Following, we address the issue of the relationship between the photoreporters and editors or media owners, on one hand, and relation between the actual stories and the media framing of them witht he help of the renowned international photographers and editors of some of the globally most read media. Lastly, with our guests we wish to apply the individual experience from the current events of refugee and migration crisis and the generalization and thematizing of media stories to offer some insights, critiques and suggestions for change.
